These days there are so many thoughts that runs through our minds. Sometimes, it is hard to pull them all together and sort them out. For me, it’s a constant mind game that plays throughout the day and it takes me through every level in the game by the end of the day. First, you know this is my disclosure, the thoughts I share with you are strictly my thoughts and my not be how you feel but you might have an ahhhhha moment. Now that the clause it is out of the way, let us get to the good stuff.
What are mind games? Well for me, it’s when I let everything, including people control my thoughts, take my key, and drive the car that controls my mind. That’s right, the key. Ever find yourself on the emotional roller coaster because you let someone else have your emotion key. It can happen and we let it. That’s why today, I am screaming Sistahs, “Conquer Your Mind” start today.
Life is full of chaos and our minds are powerful. But I truly believe we can control our thoughts once we learn how to conquer our mind. What comes to your mind when you hear the word “manifesting”? Remember, manifesting has many definitions in people’s perspectives. However, I am a firm believer, manifestation and law of attractions goes hand and hand. How? The thoughts we manifest in our minds can predict the outcome of what is being manifested in positive or negative outcome (e.g., law of attraction).
So how do we conquer our minds, stop overthinking, take back our keys from people who we allow to control our minds and manifest only positive outcomes from the universe. Time to reevaluate the things we are allowing to control our mind. It a very hard mind blowing not easy task to do. I know this because I also struggle with conquering my thoughts in my mind. Below, I have listed a few steps that helps me bring all my thoughts together to reconquer my mind.
- Step back and evaluate “Self-Awareness.”
- When I start on my overthinking roller-coaster, I try to become more aware of my thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Meditation has helped me develop a better way to identify my self-awareness.
- Learn to Identify your negative thought patterns.
- Now, I cannot stress this enough. You must be able to identify your Negative thoughts vs. Positive thoughts. When you are not able to identify the difference, you can miss the patterns. Missing the patterns, you cannot conquer your mind. Try to practice positive self-talk. Trust, I have great conversations with myself lol.
- Manage Stress.
- When there’s stress, there’s chaos. When there’s chaos, your mind is not at peace. Let me tell you, most days I carry a lot of stress around. To help manage, I have introduced deep breathing and again meditation that helps me gain muscle relaxation.
- Bring on the Self-Compassion.
- I am my own worst critic. I had to learn to forgive myself, accept my mistakes. I now look at my mistakes as mini learning classes and each time I finish, I earn a higher level of self-compassion.
- My biggest step out of all… top priority you must do, “Set Boundaries”.
- Establish healthy boundaries to protect your mental and emotional well-being.
One response to “Conquer Your Mind”
Hi Sista! This is a great post with wonderful suggestions to regain access to the keys we’ve thrown away or allowed others to possess. The world we live in today can easily draw us into places of negativity and create an environment of unending chaos. I’ve been aggressively working to master the steps #1 -3 you identified. But have alot more work to do relative to your numbers 4 and 5. I would add one additional item that I’m finding helpful which is massages to remove physical areas of tension internally that also impacts my resilience. I tend to carry personal stress and the stress I take on from others physically in my neck and back. This makes me impatient with others and less capable of being a good resource for myself or others. Again great blog. Today, I commit to giving others their stress keys back and taking back control of my own keys so i can steer myself and those around me to more positive and healthier spaces as children of GOD.
